About Joy

I’m a wife, mom, fitness enthusiast and casual blogger. My husband is a great motivator and suggested I start this blog during my 60 day “on the path” Bikram challenge in 2012.

I branched out of my comfort zone and chronicled the ups and downs of my mission to 60 consecutive days of Bikram yoga.

Now, a few years later, I’ve decided to fire up the blog again.

My story has some twists and turns.

In 2003, I was the victim in a hit-and-run car accident. I was 8 1/2 months pregnant with my daughter. She came out fine and I ended up with a permanently disabled left leg, chronic pain and a lot of hard lessons.

They never found the person who hit me.

I soldiered on, earning my B.A. in Mass Communication and Journalism from California State University Fresno in 2008. I decided to dust off my writing skills and put them to use here, focusing on rehabilitation and the triumphs and challenges of living a healthy life.

Thanks for reading!

Haha, thanks, Shawnn. Making the decision to workout and figuring out what exercise you might enjoy is half the battle. Starting is the hardest part but I know you can do it. You’re a tough cookie!
